Tony award winning creator of Avenue Q visits Thames Academy!

Avenue Q's Tony award winning creator, Jeff Marx, visited Thames Academy on         December 11th!

Donna Ogle, Thames Academy faculty and Faculty Advisor of the Mitchell College Drama Society, arranged the visit. Jeff met with students at the Thames Academy building and spoke about his career, how he began writing music, the inspiration for the musical Avenue Q, and advised students to never give up on their dreams. Later that afternoon, students were invited to the Eugene O'Neill Theater for a private dress rehearsal of Jeff's newest musical which is currently in the works. Mitchell College and Thames Academy students were invited to this private viewing and were asked to give feedback to Jeff Marx after the show!

Jeff Marx was the creator of the music and lyrics of Avenue Q. He began his career as a lawyer and eventually stopped practicing law to become a successful songwriter. Jeff and the cast of Avenue Q won a Tony award in 2004 for Best Musical.
