The Thames Academy math instructor, John Lehet, has reviewed Thames students' math assessments and created an individualized plan for each student. Although students are not yet placed in math classes for the spring, Mr. Lehet wants to see if students who put forth the effort and time into the online practice problems will show significant growth in their math skills in the next 4-6 weeks.
He doesn't think this will happen...he KNOWS this will happen!
Mr. Lehet will be meeting briefly with each student on Monday afternoon between 3-5pm to
1) introduce himself
2) show each student his/her customized plan
3) explain his expectations for their effort and practice in the next 4-6 weeks
Mr. Lehet would like all students to progress and develop math skills in areas he has identified which need strengthening.Thames Academy has created a brand new "Math Lab" room located in Montauk House. The "Math Lab" room is across the hall from the math instructor's office. Students can work in a quiet environment and complete their online practice math problems near the instructor if they have questions.
Students will meet with the math instructor according to the following groups:
MONDAY 3:00 - 4:00pm (Students in Monday Career Class will meet with Mr. Lehet right after their career class. The career instructor will walk them to the math instructor's office)
MONDAY 4:00 - 5:00pm (Students in Thursday Career Class will meet with Mr. Lehet during this time)
